Dafna Sartiel
Dafna Sartiel
Printmaking / Photography / Mosaic / Sculpture Artist.
Graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem, and worked for years as a designer.
Since 2005, she has been working and specializing in etching and engraving at the Tel Aviv Artists' House Printshop and in her own studio in Tel Aviv.
Since 2007, she has held six solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows, including: Tel Aviv Biennale of Crafts & Design, Eretz Israel Museum, Tel Aviv, Israel (2020, 2023); Local Testimony, Eretz Israel Museum (2017); Fresh Paint 4 - The Greenhouse, Contemporary Art Fair, Tel Aviv (2011); Traces, The 4th National Drawing Biennial, Jerusalem (2010); and many more.
Her work captures everyday, local, and often overlooked moments, transforming them through a hybrid filter that combines traditional techniques - such as engraving, etching, and mosaic - with contemporary technologies, including photography, digital image processing, and modern materials, resulting in new, relevant, and universally resonant representations.
Her work often explores the tension between image and content, and the medium through which it is created or presented.
